  15. <p>     DIED. Barbara Boggs Sigmund, 51, mayor of Princeton, N.J.;
  16. of cancer; in Princeton. She was the older daughter of
  17. Louisiana Democratic Congressman Hale Boggs and Lindy Boggs,
  18. who succeeded him after he died in a plane crash in 1972.
  19. Sigmund sought the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate
  20. from New Jersey in 1982. During that race she lost an eye to
  21. cancer but campaigned wearing an eye patch with the words "Vote
  22. Sigmund." She lost but was elected mayor of Princeton in 1983.
